Lockett was born in Alsager and played for local amateur sides Alsager's Bank, Audley and Cross Heath before joining Crewe Alexandra.
Originally, Boldon James specialised in Information Processing Architecture (IPA) networking solutions for interworking with International Computers Limited (ICL) systems, with offices in Congleton and Alsager.
Forrester was born in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent and was educated at Eastwood (local authority run) School, the City School of Commerce in Stoke-on-Trent, and Alsager teacher training college in Cheshire.
He had originally planned to go into teaching, training at Alsager College of Education, but began to act with the Barrow-in-Furness Repertory Company instead.
