Platform 1 on the east side, is a high platform for İZBAN trains to Alsancak and Aliağa.

İZBAN started operation of its Southern Line on August 30, 2010, operation of its Northern Line began on December 5, 2010 (Alsancak-Çiğli) and finally opened to Aliağa on January 31, 2011.
The ORC opened the first section of the line, between Alsancak and Gaziemir and Seyiköy in 1858, thus becoming the first railway in Turkey.
The inaugural train will depart Alsancak Terminal in İzmir at 8:00pm (EEST) after an opening ceremony which the minister of transport, Binali Yıldırım will attend.
The ORC also built a tramway from Alsancak station along the Kordon to district of Konak in İzmir.
