The highest selling New Zealand Album was The Best: '98-'08, a greatest hits album by rock group The Feelers, while Tiki Taane's "Always on My Mind" achieved the Radio Airplay Record of the Year award.


Black on Black

The second Jennings record, after 1977's Ol' Waylon, to be produced by Chips Moman, who had collaborated with Willie Nelson on Always on My Mind, Nelson's most successful album, Black on Black features a different sound than most Jennings albums of the period, prominently including electric pianos and backing vocals, the latter performed primarily by Jennings' wife, Jessi Colter.

Si Siman

Siman's biggest successes came in the late 1960s with songwriter Wayne Carson Thompson, known for "The Letter", "Always On My Mind" and "Soul Deep" (The Box Tops); and he helped such local artists as Ronnie Self and Johnny Mullins ("Blue Kentucky Girl") chart nationally.
