In 2004, Ionikos moved to Amaliada, Greece and was named Ionikos N.F. Amaliada, but the team returned to Nea Philadelphia at the end of the season.
After his graduation in 1908 he worked for some time as a teacher in Burgas, before returning to Greece and teaching in Amaliada and Athens.
