The APSA has held its Annual Meeting since April 2005 in conjunction with the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the Association of American Physicians in Chicago, Illinois.
The parties to this meeting considered the need for a new society, separate from the Association of American Physicians (AAP), whose membership was at that time limited to 160 individuals.
The Journal of Clinical Investigation (JCI) is a peer-reviewed medical journal published by the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI).
In 2006 Dr. Pandolfi was elected as a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the American Association of Physicians.
