Stephen Henry Burum, A.S.C. (born November 25, 1939) is an American cinematographer.

The CML has over 3500 members worldwide, including members of the American Society of Cinematographers, the British Society of Cinematographers, the Canadian Society of Cinematographers, etc. as well as representatives from most major equipment manufacturers, including Kodak, Fujifilm, Aaton, Arri, Panavision, Sony, Panasonic, etc.
In 2004 The American Society of Cinematographers' Technology Committee and the six-studio industry consortium Digital Cinema Initiatives created the ASC-DCI Standard Evaluation Material (StEM) "Mini Movie" as the official image quality reference used to create the requirements and standards for Digital Cinema (Filmed on the Universal backlot with Allen Daviau as director of photography).
In the U.S. he is a member of The American Society of Cinematographers ASC and the International Cinematographers Guild, IATSE Local 600 and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences AMPAS (OSCAR)

The film received an American Society of Cinematographers Award for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography, as well as a Canadian Society of Cinematographers Award for Best Cinematography in TV Drama for Rene Ohashi.
