It is also interesting to note that the first president of the Third Republic (Philippines), Manuel Roxas, descended from Dońa Margarita's uncle Antonio Roxas who migrated to Capiz to set up a plant making alcohol out of palm, and therefore Congressman Dinggoy and his father Senator Gerry Roxas are close relatives of the Roxas-Ayala-Zobel-Soriano clan.
His paternal grandfather, Andrés Soriano, a prominent businessman and philanthropist, was Minister of Finance in the Philippines before World War II.

In 1962, RMN's approach to broadcasting drew the interest of another visionary business leader, the late Andres Soriano Sr. of San Miguel Corporation who eventually bought the majority shares of RMN and brought the radio network to Manila, the first provincial station to do so.
