While he was on tour with Morissette in 1996, he met Angie Hart, whose band Frente! was Morissette's opening act.
Together with Frente's Angie Hart they recorded the song Tingly, which was released as a single in 1995, and reached the Triple J Hottest 100 of the same year.
Austin was a founding member of Frente! in Melbourne in 1989 with Angie Hart on vocals, Tim O'Connor on bass guitar and Mark Picton on drums.
