Returning to the grass circuits, he formed part of the Moroccan team for the 2008 IAAF World Cross Country Championships and placed 28th overall, leading a national team including Jamel Chatbi and Anis Selmouni to fifth place in the rankings.
He represented Morocco in the world cross country long race from 2004 to 2010, typically finishing in the top thirty, and his best performance came at the 2007 edition, where he came seventeenth and won the team silver medal alongside Anis Selmouni.
