Anthroposophical medicine

A 2003 report of a widespread measles outbreak around Coburg identified an anthroposophical school as the origin.

In the 1990s the Witten/Herdecke University in Germany established a chair in anthroposophical medicine.

In 2012 the University of Aberdeen considered establishing a chair in holistic health jointly funded by Software AG, and by the Anthroposophic Health, Education and Social Care Movement, each of which would provide £1.5 million of endowment.


Oskar Schmiedel

Schmiedel took the initiative and organized a course called the Spiritual Science and Medicine/Introducing Anthroposophical Medicine course given to 40 mainly homeopathic physicians in Dornach.

Wilhelm Pelikan

Extremely fruitful collaboration with pharmacists Wilhelm Spiess, Walther Cloos and Hans Krueger with flow scientist Theodor Schwenk and many physicians among them Eugen Kolisko, Gottfried and Gisbert Husemann, Walther Buehler, Otto Wolff, Rudolf Treichler, Eberhard Schickler, Kurt Magerstaedt, Paul Paede, Norbert Glas, made it possible to bring Rudolf Steiner's suggestions to realization and so develop a range of anthroposophical medicines.
