Abraham of Arbela (died c. 348) (also known as Abramius) was a bishop of Arbela in Assyria.
Temples were still being dedicated to Ashur, Shamash, Ishtar, Sin, Hadad and Ninurta in Assur, Arbela and Harran among other places, during the 3rd and 4th centuries AD, and traces would survive into the 10th century in remote parts of Assyria.
Cities with substantial Jewish populations – Nisibis, Edessa, Seleucia, Arbela – joined the rebellion and slaughtered their small Roman garrisons.
Amin's personal physician was, in fact, a Ugandan doctor called Paul D'Arbela.
