In December 1996 Bishops John and Mefodiy ordained Archimandrite Stefan a bishop for the Russian True Orthodox Church.
He, thus, accused Catholicos Anton II of appropriating the church properties and denounced Dositheos Pitskhelauri, the archimandrite of Kvatakhevi, on account of being unlawfully appointed during the regency of Prince David of Georgia.
By July 1973 he was succeeded in the missionary echelon of Kananga by his old friend and partner, the Archimandrite Chariton (Pneumatikakis) (1908-1998).

Archimandrite Leo Garoshka, MIC (Belarussian: Leў Garoshka, born on 26 February 1911, Troschitsy, Grodno Region, Russian Empire - died on 8 August 1977, Paris, France) was a Belarusian Roman Catholic priest of the Eastern rite, religious and social activist and researcher of the history of religion in Belarus.
His doctoral dissertation, “Shenoute’s Literary Corpus” (published in 2004), laid the groundwork for his current main research preoccupation, which is an international collaborative project to publish the writings of the ancient Coptic monastic leader Shenoute the Archimandrite (ca. 347–465).
The Siberian Metropolitan Paul (who, before the appointment to Tobolsk, was the Archimandrite of the Chudov Monastery in the Moscow Kremlin) supervised the construction.
