The club was later renamed the National Club of Carpathian Shepherd Dog Breeders which is based in The club observed that there many Carpathians in Rucăr, Argeş County that are considered ancestors of today's Carpathians.
On 6 June 2009, the club succeeds to promote to the Liga I and obtains the greatest performance ever made by a club from Curtea de Argeş, becoming the third team from Argeş County that will play in the Liga I after FC Argeş Piteşti and Dacia Mioveni.
An IAR 330 SOCAT helicopter, belonging to the 90th Airlift Base, crashed on November 7, 2007, in Ungheni, 30 km south of Piteşti, Argeş County, during a night training mission, killing all three crew members.
Three crewmen were killed on November 7, 2007, including Commander Bucur Nicolae (one of the most experienced RoAF pilots, with over 2,700 flying hours), when an IAR-330 Puma SOCAT helicopter belonging to the 90th Airlift Base crashed in Ungheni, near Piteşti, Argeş County.
