Armathwaite

The town of Armathwaite in Fentress County, Tennessee was named by William H. Gilliat, who was from the Armathwaite area (then in Cumberland) and who arrived in Tennessee about 1881.

Cleveland Dyke

The dyke has been worked for roadstone at numerous localities including Barrock Fell near Armathwaite in Cumbria and at both Cockfield Fell and Bolam in County Durham.
