He learned the preliminaries of music from his late father, Master Hassan Kamkar, and since childhood he performed in several ensembles directed by his late father.
In addition to playing the santur, Ardavan has taken music composition, harmony and counterpoint lessons with Houshang and Arsalan Kamkar.
