Athan Maroulis formed the New York based group Fahrenheit 451 (1984–1986), with whom he recorded his first commercially available album.

The manuscript was known to Marcus Welser, Isaac Vossius, Claudius Salmasius, Jean Hardouin, and Johann Daniel Schöpflin; it was first printed with the title: "Dicuili Liber de mensura orbis terrae ex duobus codd. mss. bibliothecae imperialis nunc primum in lucem editus a Car. Athan. Walckenaer" (Paris, 1807).
After the completion of phase 1 training at RAF Halton, recruits begin a 58 week training course at St Athan entailing basic engineering, sheet metal work, welding processes including oxyacetylene welding, Metal inert gas welding (MIG), Manual metal arc welding (MMA) and TIG welding, Turning and Milling.
Whilst stationed at RAF St Athan air base in the Vale of Glamorgan in 1943, Matthews fought future world champion Rocky Marciano in an amateur boxing match.
The only squadrons to operate out of St Athan on a regular basis are the University of Wales Air Squadron (one of fourteen RAF University Air Squadrons), flying Grob Tutors and No 634 Volunteer Gliding Squadron using Vigilant T.1s.
