Ayer's Cliff, Quebec

In the 1930s, the well-known American multi-millionaire sportsman Foxhall P. Keene maintained a seasonal residence at Ayer's Cliff, where he died in 1941.

These included the railroad mogul Charles Keller Beekman, Chicago attorney David Leavitt Hough, Charles W. Parker, and George Fuller Parker, a close friend of President Grover Cleveland.


Abdul Ghani Ahmad

Abdul Ghani was first elected to the Kedah State Assembly for Ayer Hitam in the 1999 election, but was defeated in 2004 by Othman Aziz of Barisan Nasional.

American Woolen Company

The Ayer mill's 22 Foot diameter 4-sided clocktower is only a foot smaller than Big Ben and purportedly only second to it in size in the world (among chiming 4-sided clocktowers).

Anniviers

It was formed through the merger of six municipalities in Val d'Anniviers: Ayer, Chandolin, Grimentz, Saint-Jean, Saint-Luc and Vissoie.

Bill Ayer

On February 16, 2012, Ayer announced that he will be stepping down as CEO of Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air, and its parent company on May 15, 2012 and will be replaced by Brad Tilden, the airline's president.

Francis Ayer

Ayer was born to Nathaniel Wheeler Ayer and Joanna B. Wheeler in Lee, Massachusetts, though he was raised in western New York.

Lore pronounced "Lo'-re," rhymes with "story" Rogers was born in the town of Patten, Maine, where his father, Col. Luther B. Rogers, returned home from the Civil War, and became a partner in a prominent lumbering operation, Ayer and Rogers.

Masjid Al-Abrar

An 1856 painting by Percy Carpenter, entitled Telok Ayer Street as seen from Mount Wallich, features an early visual record of the brick mosque.

Othman Aziz

In the 2004 general election, Othman was elected to the state assembly of Kedah, defeating the incumbent Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) assemblyman Abdul Ghani Ahmad by 860 votes in the seat of Ayer Hitam.

Pulau Tikus

The first Prime Minister of Malaysia, the late Tunku Abdul Rahman, spent his retirement years in Pulau Tikus, in a house on the former Ayer Rajah Road now renamed Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman after him.

Saint-Luc, Switzerland

An independent municipality before, it merged on 1 January 2009 with neighboring Ayer, Chandolin, Grimentz, Saint Jean and Vissoie to form the municipality of Anniviers.

Telok Ayer Chinese Methodist Church

In early 1913, Reverend F.H. Sullivan borrowed money and bought a piece of land at the junction of Telok Ayer Street and Cecil Street for $3,600.
