The Class 52s were never renumbered into their TOPS number series (52 xxx) and they became the last class of locomotives on BR not to carry a TOPS number.
The ČSD Czechoslovak state railways used hundreds of 52s post-war, partly left here by the Nazis after the liberation in May 1945, partly brought in as war reparation and/or (re)built by the Škoda Works in Plzeň.
In 2001, Fisher collaborated with the Chicago-based band, Cheer-Accident in covering “Those 52 Girls” for the B-52s tribute album Wigs On Fire! on Nihilist Records.

The Paraguayan government decided to buy it in 1927 -- the first fighter Paraguay had ever bought and its only fighter until the arrival of seven Wibault 73 C.1 aircraft in 1928 -- but placed no order for additional S.52s.
A 1987 "public service announcement" for the Art Against AIDS organization's "Summer of Love" project, which visually referenced the cover of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles in tableau vivant form, featured the B-52s, Willi Ninja, Allen Ginsberg, Nam Jun Paik, Quentin Crisp, Lady Bunny and David Byrne, among many others.
