He started and played most of his career at Faroese club B36 and also played for Danish side Randers Freja and in Scotland for Ayr United, where he teamed up shortly alongside compatriot Jens Martin Knudsen.

He played in the Faroe Islands for Tórshavn sides HB Tórshavn and B36 Tórshavn, before moving abroad to play in the Norwegian, English and Icelandic leagues.
Malsom's agent later organised a trial with B36 Torshavn in the Faroe Islands, during which he impressed enough for the club to offer him a permanent deal.
After a disappointing season at Viborg FF, he left Denmark and went back to the Faroe Islands at B36 Tórshavn.
