In the 1920s and 1930s the company was run by Sir Edmund's son, Sir Keith Nuttall, 2nd Baronet (1901–1941), who served in the Royal Engineers in the Second World War.
BAM Construction (part of BAM Nuttall) has won an £80m contract to design and build three new academy schools for Medway Council last year, including Brompton Academy and Bishop of Rochester Academy.
BAM Nuttall were contracted to complete this part of the work, and it soon became apparent that it would turn into a more complex operation than previously thought.
The station is (as of 2013) expected to open by 2016; the construction work is being undertaken by BAM Nuttall on behalf of Network Rail and Transport Scotland.
