Badland has performed in several radio dramas including BBC Radio 4's Rolling Home (2001), Smelling of Roses (2003) and an adaptation of George MacDonald's novel At the Back of the North Wind; lead role as DC Gwen Danbury in An Odd Body on BBC Radio 4 Extra.
An audio adaptation of The Doomed Oasis has been repeated on the UK digital radio station BBC Radio 7 (now called BBC Radio 4 Extra).
Starting in 2011 the BBC aired radio adaptations of some of the Thorndyke short stories, Thorndyke: Forensic Investigator on BBC Radio 4 Extra.
He can also be heard playing one of the main characters in the radio sitcom The Brothers, which is regularly repeated on BBC Radio 4 Extra.
