Big-serving tennis ace Ivo Karlović has familial connections to Babušnica and was a frequent visitor to the area in his younger years.
The town is accessible from the nearby city of Niš by the "Niš Express" buses that run from Niš to Pirot, Babušnica, Dimitrovgrad and Sofia.
It lies between towns of Niška Banja on the northwest and Babušnica on the southeast, with a ridge branching towards Bela Palanka on north.
