It is a look at the war in Mindanao between the Philippine government (during President Joseph Estrada's short stint) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), primarily through the eyes of the Bangsamoro (or Moros as they are more popularly known).
When the film won the Best Picture award over the much favored film Bagong Buwan (a film about the military conflict in Muslim Mindanao directed by Marilou Diaz-Abaya).
Assunta’s younger sister Alessandra de Rossi was named Best Supporting Actress for Hubog, while Ronnie Lazaro bagged the Best Supporting Actor award for Bagong Buwan.
