General Emilio Aguinaldo, Cavite, a town in the Philippines, which was formerly known as Bailen
Claude François Dupré or Claude François Duprès (3 October 1755, Fort-Louis, in the Bas-Rhin - 21 July 1808, Bailén, Andalucia) was a French general.
The Philippine Commission approved Act No. 947 on October 15, 1903, annexing the municipalities of Bailen and Mendez to Alfonso, thus becoming barrios of Alfonso.
Apart from the odd setback, such as General Castaños' surprise victory at Bailén, in part due to guerrilla warfare between Madrid and Andalusia, and especially in the Sierra Morena, a victory which helped persuade the British government that Napoleon could be defeated, the French troops were largely undefeated on the open battlefield.
