Baillie Scott

In 1894, in an article in The Studio, he proposed a design having a high central hall with a galleried inglenook between the drawing and dining rooms and separated from them by folding screens.

Groudle Glen railway station

Directly opposite the station is the now closed Groudle Glen Hotel which was built upon the arrival of the railway in 1893 and designed by the renowned architect Baillie Scott.

Majestic Halt

The halt gains its name from the large Baillie Scott-designed hotel which was once located across the road from the tramlines.
