Its territory mostly consists of two former Princely States, namely Baria (Devgadh) and Sanjeli in addition to Fatehpura Taluka of Sunth (Rampur) State, along with the two "eastern mahals" of Dahod and Jhalod from the former Panchmahals.
The gun salutes enjoyed by princely states that acceded to the Dominion of India on 14 August 1947 included one following Maharaol a Hereditary salute of 9-guns (11-guns personal) for H.H. the Maharaol of Baria
The British district consisted of two parts, the "western mahals" and the "eastern mahals," which were divided by the territories of Baria (Devgadh) and Sanjeli states.
The large Kathiawar peninsula consisted of some prominent Princely States of India like the Baroda State, Nawanagar State, Bhavnagar State, Wadhwan, Porbandar, Idar, Dhrangadhra State, Rajpipla, Cambay, Gondal, Morvi, Wankaner, Baria, Dharampur, Dhrol, Limbdi, Rajkot, Palitana, Sachin and many others.
Maharaja Man Singh had several children; his daughter married the Maharaol of Baria, while his younger sons and grandson married princesses from Jubbal, Tripura, and Lunawada.

HH Maharani Prem Kumari (1929 – 1970), who married in 1948, the Maharawal of Baria, and had one daughter, married into the Dumraon royal house,, and had one son (a great-grandson of Man Singh II).
The ship resumed its trip passed the province of Zhenpu (Baria in present day South Vietnam), through Poulo Condor Sea, then heading north on the Mekong River into Tonle Sap River reaching the town of Kampong Chhnang of Cambodia; from there he boarded a small boat, sailing for a dozen days, through Tonle Sap Lake arriving at Angkor Thom, the capital of Cambodia in August.
