Etsu Abubakar II (1919–1926) was responsible for moving the Divisional Office from Baro to Agaie in 1920, and for opening the Agaie market.
Baro, Koumana, and Balato are the three principal villages of the region, but sacred pools are also important components of the cultural landscape where grand ceremonies are performed every year.
However, it was later brought into widespread use, articulated as discussed here, by Ignacio Martín-Baró.

Alan Baró Calabuig (born 22 June 1985 in Darnius, Catalonia) is a Spanish footballer who plays for SD Ponferradina in Segunda División, as a defensive midfielder.
Ellacuría, Martín-Baró and Segundo Montes, along with three other Jesuit professors, their housekeeper and her daughter, were murdered by the Salvadoran Armed forces on November 16, 1989 in one of the most notorious episodes from the Civil War (see The murdered scholars of UCA).
As master of the Baltic fleet, 14 March 1854, he reconnoitered the southern parts of Åland, Hanko Bay, Baro Sund, and the anchorage of Suomenlinna, preparatory to taking the fleet to those places.
