Club Atlético Barracas Central is an Argentine football club from the district of Barracas, Buenos Aires.
The station is located a short distance north of the Riachuelo River in the barrio of Barracas, an outlying neighbourhood in the southern part of the city.

The southern area of the city, (including barrios such as Barracas and Parque Patricios) while traditionally not a top tourist destination, is historically the source for much of the city's early tango culture.
Barracas welcomed former Lanús goalkeeper Horacio Ramirez, who arrived back in Argentina from Peru's Coronel Bolognesi in January 2010, as well as 22-year old striker Jorge Gonzalez from Puerto Rico's River Plate.
Pizzuti was born in the Barracas neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, at the age of 14 he joined the Banfield youth team.
