Westhead was working as pianist in a church before meeting the other members of Starsailor, James Stelfox, Ben Byrne and James Walsh in March 2000.
They became friends since junior school and they went to Leigh Campus of Wigan and Leigh College, where they finally met Barry Westhead and James Walsh.
