Eaton graduated from Snohomish High School in 1996 where he went 8–0 with a 0.67 earned run average (ERA) as a senior, and earned second team High School All-America honors from Baseball America.
In 2003, Baseball America analyst John Manuel described Roberts as the best player on UTA's squad which also included Hunter Pence.
In his senior year, Allison was named the 2003 Massachusetts Gatorade High School Baseball Player of the Year and was also named the 2003 Baseball America High School Player of the Year, becoming the first player from Massachusetts to win the honor.
