The Mesozoic Sclerorhynchoidea are basal or incertae sedis; they show features of the Rajiformes but have snouts resembling those of sawfishes.
Opened in March 2013, the 6,400 gallon touch tank houses six sets of four species of rays and skates indigenous to the Northern Gulf of Mexico and Mobile Bay.
Rajiform: seen in rays, skates, and mantas when thrust is produced by vertical undulations along large, well developed pectoral fins.
