Alexander, Earl of Menteith

Alexander was with his father at the Battle of Dunbar on 27 April 1296, and fled to Dunbar Castle where he and others were taken prisoner and committed to the Tower.

David Leslie, Lord Newark

Although the 14,000 strong Scottish army had the numerical advantage, divisions within the Committee of Estates and Kirk instructing Leslie gave Cromwell the opportunity to inflict a decisive defeat on the Scottish at the Battle of Dunbar on 3 September 1650.

Brechin fought in the Earl of Surrey's army at the Battle of Dunbar, and was granted lands previously owned by Alan Durward.
