It was a prominent businessplace (Jute, Bua (Beetlenuts), Rice etc. and a host of small scale industries) and centre of culture in Darrang district but due to violent agitation by Bodos and Bodo insurgency since past 20 years, its glory had suffered badly.
The first to become an OIC of the school from 1996-1999 was Jovita Bascos, a head teacher of Don Eulogio de Guzman Memorial National High School, Bauang, La Union.
The other roads are Marcos Highway (also known as Ben Palispis Highway in Benguet and as the Jose Aspiras Highway in La Union) from Agoo town, and Naguilian Road from Bauang both in La Union province.
