They also existed in the 17th century and 18th century in Birmingham and in connection with the scythe industry in Belbroughton and Chaddesley Corbett in north Worcestershire.
He was born in Belbroughton, Worcestershire, the son of James Henry Taylor and Mary Parish, and came to Canada in 1905.
Built in the open Rotton Park by John Perrott in 1758, who lived in Belbroughton, the tower now stands high above the local residential and business housing.
