The celebration was captured by famous social realist artist and photographer, Ben Shahn, in 1938 for the Farm Security Administration.
Her thesis painting, The Resurrection, was awarded the Painting Prize by juror Ben Shahn.
Also included under the umbrella of the Home is The Art Collection at The Hebrew Home at Riverdale which comprises over 4,500 paintings, prints, photographs, and sculpture ranging from contemporary works by such artists as Alex Katz, Ben Shahn, and Andy Warhol to Native American ceremonial art and African sculpture.
While there, he was able to meet and learn from such artists as Ben Shahn, Rufino Tamayo and Gabor Peterdi.
