Benjamin Tallmadge (February 11, 1754 – March 7, 1835) was a member of the United States House of Representatives.
When his property was put up for sale, it was purchased in 1784 by Caleb Brewster and Benjamin Tallmadge, who had been members of the Culper Spy Ring during the American Revolutionary War.

While in Manhattan, he would wander the city to collect information and then return to Setauket where he could the information to Major Benjamin Tallmadge writing with the pseudonym "Samuel Culper."
