Lauche was the son of a palace gardener for the Count of Bernstorff in Gartow, and so early was familiar with the nursery.

The Bernstorff Memorial (Danish: Bernstorffstøtten) is a memorial to Count Johann Hartwig Ernst von Bernstorff located at Lyngbyvej, just south of Kildegårds Plads, Gentofte Municipality, in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Erich Graf von Bernstorff-Gyldensteen (June 26, 1883 – October 6, 1968) was a German Count and sports shooter who competed in the 1912 Summer Olympics.
He also enjoyed friendships with the most influential figures of the times including Adam Gottlob Moltke, Hans Ahlefeldt, the Bernstorffs, Saint-Germain, Ove Høegh-Guldberg, General Heinrich Wilhelm von Huth and General Peter Elias von Gähler.
Even after 1783, when Augusta Louise moved to Copenhagen and married the Danish Minister of State Peter Andreas Bernstorff, she remained at the side of her best friend.
