The Galli-Bibiena family derives its name from the surname and birthplace of papa Giovanni Maria Galli (1625–1665), who was born at Bibbiena (Italy) outside Florence.
In 1386 he was chosen ambassador to Genoa, but preferred to go as podestà to Bibbiena in Casentino.
Bagno di Romagna borders the following municipalities: Bibbiena, Chiusi della Verna, Mercato Saraceno, Poppi, Pratovecchio, Santa Sofia, Sarsina, Verghereto.
It is found in the pope's chambers in what originally served as a washing room for the cardinal Bibbiena.
