Big Creek is a deep-water port on the Caribbean Sea in Belize's Toledo District (just south of the boundary with Stann Creek District), constructed in the 1990s.
The penstock pipes for the original two units at Big Creek Power Houses One and Two, built 1912-13, were purchased from the Krupp Works in Germany because at that time that manufacturer produced steel pipes of the tensile strength needed to contain the very high water pressures in the pipes in the 1500 foot drop down to Power House One.

In 1858, the Butterfield Overland Mail established Earhart's Station, on the west bank of Big Creek, at Hogeye, or Hog Eye Prairie a prosperous ranch there managed by Joseph B. Earhart.
SR 67 leaves Richlands to the north, running alongside Big Creek past Seaboard and Coaldan to near Jewell Ridge, rising onto Smith Ridge (the Tennessee Valley Divide) and ending at State Route 616 at the Buchanan County line.
