After The Goon Show series finished in 1960, he settled in the US, where he worked as an entertainer in the Reno casinos alongside the likes of Sarah Vaughan and Billy Daniels.
It was a very successful club, which saw top acts such as Henny Youngman, Vic Damone, Tony Bennett, Dick Clark, Billy Daniels and many more.
They worked with some of the biggest names of the day from both sides of the Atlantic, including Vera Lynn, Charlie Chester, Morecambe and Wise, George Formby, Elsie and Doris Waters, Al Martino, Billy Daniels and Guy Mitchell.
