1946–47 Stoke City F.C. season

The season was expanded until June due to a poor winter weather wise and on the final day of the season Stoke needed to beat Sheffield United to claim their first league title, but with the unhappy Stanley Matthews now moved on to Blackpool, Stoke lost 2–1 and ended up in 4th position.

1947–48 Colchester United F.C. season

Blackpool, Stanley Matthews et al., were drawn out to host Fenton's Cup heroes.

1961–62 Stoke City F.C. season

And Waddington pulled off a master stroke after paying £3,000 to Blackpool for the returning 46-year-old Stanley Matthews.

Ákos Buzsáky

Buzsáky won the Kiyan Prince Goal of the Season award for a side footed lob against Blackpool.

Alan Ainscow

Born in Bolton, Lancashire, Ainscow began his career with Blackpool as an apprentice, making his debut when then-Seasiders manager, Bob Stokoe, picked him to play in the 1971 Anglo-Italian Cup.

Blackpool F.C. Ladies

They also beat Blackpool Wren Rovers 4–1 in the League Cup Final at the home of Airbus UK, to secure their first Cup Victory of their short history.

After one season in charge, Mike O'Neil left the club and was succeeded by former Preston North End player Mac Barlow.

Brett Pitman

Pitman scored a 16 minute hat-trick in the first home game of the season 2010–11 against Peterborough United and on 17 August 2010 it was reported by Sky Sports News that newly promoted Premier League side Blackpool had made a bid of £400,000, possibly rising to £600,000, to sign Pitman.

David Affleck

In May 1937, he was recruited by Tom Parker to join Southampton as part of his drive to strengthen the team in an attempt to gain promotion from the Second Division, along with Frank Hill (from Blackpool), Billy Bevis (from Portsmouth) and Ray Parkin (from Middlesbrough).

Duane Holmes

He made his first league début in the 1-1 draw against Blackpool at the John Smith's Stadium on September 27, 2013, setting up the equaliser for James Vaughan.

Mac Barlow

Mick Rathbone

The 17-year-old Rathbone made his first-team debut on 31 August 1976 in a League Cup defeat at Blackpool, and his league debut on 20 October, as a substitute replacing Archie Styles in a 1–0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.

Peter Suddaby

In 1978–79, under new manager Bob Stokoe, Suddaby appeared in 42 of Blackpool's 46 league games, scoring twice.

Ryan Leonard

His elevation to training regularly with the club's first-team coincided with the return of former player Paul Mariner to Plymouth Argyle and, despite still being an apprentice, he made his first-team debut for the club on 27 March 2010 against Blackpool at Home Park.

Tony Diamond

He signed for Blackpool during the 1989-90 season, but made just three appearances for the club as Blackpool were relegated to the Fourth Division.
