In 1995 he began a sound engineer course at Centro Professione Musica (CPM), while working as a sound engineer touring Sicily in support of several international artists, including Tom Harrell, Tonino Horta, Rickie Lee Jones, Gloria Gaynor, Temptation, Blonde Redhead, Warmers, and Uzeda.

He has also produced numerous albums including, The Gossip's breakthrough record Standing in the Way of Control as well as Blonde Redhead's Melody of Certain Damaged Lemons (2000), Misery Is a Butterfly (2004) and The Blood Brothers final album, Young Machetes.
The album compiles Elliott's remixes of work by other artists, including Blonde Redhead, Tarwater and Yann Tiersen, together with a rare collaboration with English satirist Chris Morris involving Elliott's music underpinning dialogue from the "Bad Sex" series of sketches from Morris' Radio 1 "ambient comedy" show Blue Jam.
The Lapse was the duo of then boyfriend/girlfriend Chris Leo (ex-Native nod and brother of Ted Leo) and Toko Yasuda (Enon, ex-Blonde Redhead).
Yasuda has played in the bands The Lapse and The Van Pelt before their disbandment, and had a brief stint in Blonde Redhead, although she doesn't appear on any Blonde Redhead recordings.
Regionally distributed at Tower records and independently owned stores, the album was produced by Ryan Hadlock (Blonde Redhead, Stephen Malkmus) at Seattle’s Bear Creek Studios.
