Bob Thaves

Robert Lee Thaves was born on October 5, 1924, in Burt, Iowa, where his father, John, published local newspapers.

In a 1982 Frank and Ernest comic strip Thaves wrote about Fred Astaire: "Sure he was great, but don't forget that Ginger Rogers did everything he did, backwards…and in high heels."

:Dave Manak and myself just finished up working on Spy vs. Spy, the comic strip, and in the past I did a strip with Paul Coker called Horace and Buggy, about smart-ass insects, and I did some writing and artwork for Bob Thaves' Frank and Ernest.
