Bobrowniki castle was erected at the turn of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, after the purchase of Bobrowniki village by the Teutonic Knights in 1392, possibly as an extention of an earlier fortress.
Wojkowice borders the gmina of Bobrowniki, and the towns of Bedzin (the district of Grodziec), Siemianowice Slaskie (the district of Przelajka), and Piekary Śląskie (the districts of Dąbrowka Wielka and Brzozowice-Kamien).
