Colleano died at the age of 34, when he crashed his sports car (a Jaguar XK140) in Birkenhead shortly after exiting the Queensway Tunnel.
He is a great-nephew of Australian Con Colleano, who was the first wire walker to do a forward somersault on the wire and also a great-nephew of actor Bonar Colleano.
