Borassus flabellifer - Asian Palmyra palm/Lontar palm/Doub palm/Sea Coconut (southern Asia and southeast Asia)
The hne has a sextuple reeds (called hnegan), made from the young leaf of the toddy palm, which is soaked for six months.
There is another tank called 'Barunjjey Pukur' (i.e. Banerji's tank) which lies on the south-eastern corner of this village and is surrounded with palmyra trees.
A Kavu (a patch of small forest which houses the serpent Gods), Karimbana tree and Ezhilam Pala tree are also worshipped on the belief that they house Gandharvas and Yakshis.
The village is surrounded by lush vegetation, including many Palmyra Palms and mangos.
