Benedict Silberman, originally Boruch Hirsch-Benedigton Silberman (December 5, 1901 Helsinki, Finland - December 11, 1971 Hilversum, Netherlands), was a Jewish composer and conductor.
While in Europe, Scheinberg also learned at the Kaminetz yeshiva and received rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Boruch Ber Leibowitz.
The first Rabbi Chaim Yehoshua Halberstam was arrested by the NKVD during World War II and died of starvation in the Tashkent prison on 19 November 1944, leaving a young wife, Leika, and two sons, Yaakov Yosef and Boruch Duvid.
