Bura Chapori Wildlife Sanctuary

This wildlife sanctuary covers 44.06 km2, on the northern bank of the Brahmaputra River in Sonitpur district.

Chaca chaca

Chaca chaca is a species of angler catfish found in the Ganges-Brahmaputra River system of India and the Ayeyarwady River of Myanmar, where it is found in rivers, canals, and ponds of grassland, scrubland, deciduous forest, and rainforest habitats.

New Bhaitbari

It is located at a distance of about 5 km from the Brahmaputra River of Assam.

Pani Dihing Wildlife Sanctuary

The sanctuary is bordered by the Brahmaputra and the Dishang rivers in the north west and south respectively.

Sat Gambuj Mosque

A small urban settlement on record on a route along the river, this was an alternative to reach Brahmaputra or Garh Jaripa without having to go through the hostile areas along the main stream of Sitalakhya and Brahmaputra on the east.

Bangladesh Agricultural University

Battle of Saraighat

The Battle of Saraighat was fought in 1671 between the Mughal empire (led by the Kachwaha king, Raja Ramsingh I), and the Ahom Kingdom (led by Lachit Borphukan) on the Brahmaputra river at Saraighat, now in Guwahati.

Originally native to the lower Brahmaputra River, the only population ever reliably known consists of 150-300 turtles in a manmade pond which is part of the Hazrat Sultan Bayazid Bastami (also transliterated "Bostami" or "Bustami") shrine at Chittagong, where they are dependent on humans for survival.

Ramsingh I

The Assam forces, under Lachit Borphukan, unable to match the Mughals on land, were able to win the decisive Battle of Saraighat on the Brahmaputra river which forced Ram Singh to retreat back to Mughal territory.

Rangiya railway station

It reached Katihar in 1888-89 and in 1909 it reached Amingaon on the banks of the Brahmaputra, which could be crossed by ferry to reach Guwahati.
