India is NPO's second largest customer after Russia for sale of P-70 Ametist, BrahMos, P-800 Oniks and possibly the P-500 Bazalt
They were the first ships in the Indian Navy to deploy the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile systems.
This capability is important to air defence systems given the great speed of modern anti ship missiles such as the P-270 Moskit or Brahmos.
