From there, the river flows southeast and empties into the Ionian Sea north of Brancaleone.
During the 19th century it was lost in some villages like Pentedattilo, Africo, Brancaleone, Motta San Giovanni, Montebello, and San Lorenzo, on the Ionic side of Aspromonte; and in the first years of the 20th century this spread to the towns of Palizzi, Staiti, Cardeto, Roccaforte del Greco, Amendolea and Condofuri.
In 1992, Pavlidis returned in Thessaloniki and along with Vasilis Gountaroulis, Christos Tsaprazis, Panos Tolios and Stavros Rossopoulos started to work on the material that he had prepared during his stay in France.With this line-up they appeared, for the first time, live in Karditsa under the name "Brancaleone".
